“He could not go for his regular dialysis for the past two weeks because he was broke but rejected seeking public assistance due to shame.”

When the AGN president Ibinabo Fiberesima was asked on why the Late Muna Obiekwe was not assisted  by the actors guild, in their defense, she said:

He was a private person, he didn’t tell us he had problems so there was no way we could have helped….” .
Here are some facts below about Late Muna Obiekwe a source who would like to remain anonymous shared with StarGist:
– Late Muna Obiekwe was married and had 2 children who lived abroad.
-He lived alone in his house in Festac Town
-According to his doctor, he had been battling the kidney disease for about 6 years
-Muna was so private that even his close family members and friends did not know about his ailment.
-A popular singer and actress, found Muna Obiekwe bleeding in his apartment and rushed him to the hospital.
-Muna Obiekwe died in the car on the way to Avis hospital in Festac Town where he was pronounced dead at 3.30pm on January 18th, 2015.
-Although he lived a very private life, he was close friends with Muma Gee and her actor husband, Prince Eke.
-He was too ashamed to ask for help from the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
Other facts about Late Muna Obiekwe:
-In 2011 it was reported by Nigeriafilms that the actor fathered a girl “birthed by Treasure Daniels(one of the twins of the Gholden Girlz fame) who recently meandered into music.” The information was however never confirmed and remained a rumour till date.

-Muna is also the first cousin of Yul Edochie, that makes him a member of Pete Edochie’s family.

-Muna was one of the three busiest actors in Nollywood. The other two are Mike Ezuronye and Yul Edochie.

-“He was managing it on his own. As a matter of fact, he has been managing it for a while until Ejiro Okurame and I came on board to help. We were combining resources to help him but there was very little we could do to save him. We had to enlist the help of Patience Ozokwor and Kanayo O. Kanayo (KOK) at a point. They rendered the help they could until he died.” – Vera his godmother.

“I was with him to the last hour.  He was to do up to 20 dialyses; the doctor said if the dialysis improved his condition, the worse would certainly be over. He will be okay only if he stays away from alcohol but you know our artiste” – Vera Kanu

Is it not better to die peacefully than to seek help from vampires who will never help but use your name as a mockery instrument?
