In a recent interview with Flytime TV, Adekunle Gold talks about his style, music, dealing with depression and more.
He says his genre is not Alternative, adding that most of the songs called alternative are actually Pop songs because they are popular.
He also talked about his deal with YBNL and why the record label is still his family.
On his battle with depression, Adekunle Gold said, “Some people still feel like depression is impossible. How do you have everything and you are still not happy. Sometimes even as an artiste, you have a goal.
“You want to get bigger and then you forget the small victories like you released an album and people loved it. You sold out a show and people loved it. Forgetting that if you don’t get the next thing you want, it will feel like you have lost it.
“That alone will do damage to your confidence and other things,” he said.
Adekunle also talked about working on his new album ‘About 30’ and the inspirations behind it.
